Dearest Folks. Mom, Dad, Sis, Lucy & Bud-

Well I hit the jackpot today, got 4 letters from you all and was I glad to get them. I had begun to wonder if you had gotten any of my letters but it just takes lots of time took 16 days for them to get here, hope you get the money order ok, sent $30 to Earnest Ashbrook that I borrowed when I was home last time. Things are about the same over here hot and very dusty in the day, and very cool at night it is about sundown here now at 8:25 and a field jacket feels good. We are (government censor) I haven’t heard from Pillie yet and I lost his address maybe I will hear from him sometime.  No there isn’t anything I need don’t need any money for there, isn’t much you can buy here. About all we need is cigarettes and shaving material and don’t take much money for that but if you can get that lighter send it on.Get a good one ,it cost $10 not one of those combination case &lighter just the lighter, well bud here is hoping that you don’t pass the exam for really they don’t need as many more men I don’t believe, and you can probably do more good in a defense plant than you could in the Army, but if you do get in just keep that chin up and smile even though it is hard to do sometimes. Writing this to every one to save my V mail one is as good as a dozen, signing off from N. Africa with lots& lots of love to all,

Marlin
