My Darling Wife,

I’m writing rather early tonite since we have Saturday afternoons off. –I’ve been reading your two letters over and over again. They’re so wonderful they’re making me homesick Darling. –Since I’m in my new barrack everything is different. We have two mail calls a day instead of just one as we had in the receiving Company. They call mail at 11:30 am and 2:30 pm everyday. Today I didn’t get a letter so I’ll look for one tomorrow from my Pheety. The Sergeant said we may start our basic training Monday. He also told me if he were me he wouldn’t have you down here for 4 or 5 more weeks because we’ll be pretty busy and I won’t be able to get a pass every nite. He said I’d get passes most nites though and probably every week end. –Any way I want you to come but not til I get a room first.

You don’t want to stay on the farm anyway and I don’t want you to either. In the first place I need you Darling and you need me. –If I can’t get to town every nite to see you it would be better than having you so far away and have to work hard on the farm.

You never can tell Darling but it may turn out I can get passes every nite later on when I start coming in town to see you.

Pheety I wish you would go see the doctor before you come down. I want to be sure your incision is alright first.

I’m writing you early today cause a fella and I are going to the camp theatre and see a 15-cent show tonite.

I can’t think of very much to say tonite except how much I love you Darling but tomorrow is Sunday and I’ll have all day to write you a nice long letter.

Darling I think of you every minute and look at your picture every time I take my wallet out. [edited for content]

Let’s always be close together in our hearts even if we are far apart, to hell with the rest of the flirts that try to tempt us as we go through life. –The less we have to do with other party’s the closer together we’ll always be and the more we’ll love each other.

So far we’ve done swell and I just know will always be like we are and have been doing. –We’ve gone into the Hofbrow and girls have winked at me such as the one did the nite you walked out and I picked you up at the light plank. –I wasn’t looking at her to take my attention away from you exactly, and not because I liked her. –Such people as that amuse me and I have to tease you by raving about some legs on a girl passing by or a girl winking at me. –Pheety I never cared for anything I’ve seen yet walk into the Hofbrow and as I’ve said before you’re the only one that can make me happy. –I wouldn’t trade you Darling for anyone nicer because there is no one as nice as you, not as sweet as you and to me I think you’re the prettiest girl I ever saw. I married you didn’t I and I had dozens of good reasons. No one has a pair of eyes Darling more beautiful than yours and your legs, oh Boy! –Pheety I guess this isn’t a very good letter to you but I’ll make use for it tomorrow.

How did you like my last letter. My heart was right in my pen point was in it darling. –It always is but sometimes I can’t express myself so well.

Until you hear from me Sweetheart and (you still are my Sweetheart) I just want you to always remember there will never be anyone to take your place. Never! And as long as you’ll have me we’re going to be Sweethearts forever. We’re not in doubt anyway are we Darling.

Please let me know when you can be ready to come and I’ll find the room. –When you come don’t bring too many clothes, just what you can get in one large grip. –I don’t know what you’ll use to carry them in town. My black one looks so lousy I don’t suppose you’ll want to use it.

Don’t forget your black dress and baby doll shoes Pheety cause you’re a Darling in them. [paragraph edited for content]

If you notice I have my barrack number now, (BK.T 29-22) please don’t forget it.

I’m going to the show now Darling and will be thinking of you every minute and if you only just knew how much you are on my mind Sweetheart.

Until you hear from me again Pheety I am sending everything from the bottom of my heart to you which spells all the love I could ever give you Darling.

Write me everyday.

            Your Loving Husband

            Forever Darling,

                        Vincent

P.S. It’s so miserable living without you Darling and I need you as much as you do me! Please Come to me as soon as you can. But let me know first when you’re ready Pheetyheart.

I’m sorry I make so many mistakes in this letter but I never word things at first the way they should sound to you. Forgive me Darling.
