Dearest Hal,

Sara and I had planned to go to Charlottesville today to see “Nana.” For some reason Sara can’t go until tomorrow so I will be going over there tomorrow. “Nana” is very much dissatisfied with having to stay at Blue Ridge do long. She wants very much to come home. I suppose she means that she would come to Sara’s. Tests made in July showed active germs so of course you can see how impossible that would be.

Since the Dr’s do not approve of her leaving at this time of course they would not take her back in case she ever needs to go again. We are going to try to talk to her into staying where she is for awhile anyway.

I suppose I could threaten to stop her allowance as a last resort but I would certainly hate to have to do anything, like that. I know how hot Charlottesville gets in the summer and I feel awfully sorry for her but feel she will never be well if she leaves now against the Dr’s wishes before she is a great deal better. I feel you should know this in case she writes you that we are not too considerate. I miss you more that I can say.

All my love,
