Dear All:

Arrived on time with as little trouble as could be expected. This is a foul place; Corley must be easy to please if he liked it here. All I hope is that I am not here very long. Hot and dirty and just plainly miserable.

We still don’t know what we are going to do when we leave here; we’re getting shots and lectures on everything from soup to nuts. But I doubt if we will ever get overseas, they have started using the atomic bomb which should make short work of Japan. Guess I’ll get out of the army and fly for the airlines after the war. I could get a job right now if I was out. Starting at about $400.00 to $600.00 a month, and that’s not bad in anyone’s language. Sure had a wonderful time when I was home, that was a fine leave; the only thing wrong was that it just ended too soon to suit me. Didn’t have time to do all the things that I have wanted to do. Didn’t do bad though, made some pretty good acquaintances while I was there.

The food was wonderful Mom; I’d give anything to have some right now. I am really hungry and the food here is pretty sad. Can’t get anything hardly that is worth eating.

I’d better close ‘till I feel more like writing.

Love to all,

Roy
