Dear All:

Got your letter today Pop and we sure appreciate the gas stamps, we will take a little trip this weekend with them. Sure helps to get away from the base once in awhile and the nearest place we can go that’s a town at all is Las Vegas, NV which is 130 miles from here.

Been plodding through the same old routine since you last heard from me. Day after day, fly, fly, fly, that’s about all I do. Feel like I am just marking time while the war goes merrily on without me. I have sure tried to get in it everyway I know how and I can’t seem to do any good at all.

Hope you are feeling better Mom; you should not do so much around the house until you are stronger…

Mom, you wonder why I don’t send as much home as Theron or the other boys who are overseas. That’s what I’ve been pointing out to you, the fact that you can save all the money you earn over there because you have no expenses and there is nowhere to spend it. While over here we have to pay Bo Q fee, club dues, initiation fee of $10.00 every time we change stations, by our food at $50.00 to $60.00 a month and so on which adds up fast. And when you go anywhere you have to pay your share of the expenses…

Oh! Yes. I broke my watch again and Mom I have been very careful with it too. The stem just came out in my band when I was winding it today. I give up on it, seems I wasn’t meant to own a watch like it.

Where is Corley stationed now? Mom, he has never written and you haven’t said in any of your letters. I was just wondering…

Better sleep awhile, got to fly early…

                        Love to all,

                                    Roy
