Dear Mom:

Guess you are beginning to wonder what has happened to me.  Enclosed is the usual remittance.  Hope it will help a bit.

I went out to Cochran Field Monday morning.  I have never seen so much physical examing in all my life.

They started with my eyes and went down.  Had an x-ray, blood test, and a million other things.  They got to my heart and it was beating too fast so I don’t know whether I will be in the Air Corps or not.  I have to go back Friday for a recheck.

My weight is O.K.  I had 7 pounds to spare.  I weighed 141 pounds stripped.  I only had to weigh 134.  I didn’t stand up real straight and they said I was 5’10 ½”.

Betsy asked Virginia all about Francis and I.  She asked her how I acted around her, and if I held her hard and everything else.  I may have her worried a bit.

Well Mom, I’m at the office and it is nearly time to start work so I had better vut it short for now.

Love to all, I am

Your loving son,

Roy

P.S. One buck for Ben.
