Cp. Atterbury 2.00

Hello Mrs. Tuite,

I have a few hours off this afternoon. I go on detail at six tonight. Thought I’d let you know all is well and moving along as well as can be expected under the circumstance.

Needless to note that I miss home and all it meant. Possibly this is the wisest move I have ever made. I’m sure I will have a deeper sense of value and standards when I return.

Mom wrote that Bun had been confirmed, suffering from Malaria fever. I certainly was disturbed to hear it. Bun I’m sure will weather it. At the rut Bun and his gang are traveling in the Pacific Tokyo they may be invading Japan proper soon. Then we can all go home and regard this as a bad dream.

I feel fine rugged and healthy as a pavement brick. The hours are regular and I feel fine as a result. Certainly make a good husband for Viola, I hope. Make my own bunk wash my own clothes and help scrub the barracks. I’ll learn a number of things that will he value and benefit in later life.

I should leave here soon as if you intend to write I’d advise you not to. Not till you hear from me in my basic training camp.

Love,

Frank
