Friday Evening

Hello Honey,

This has been a rather exciting day here.  About 10:30 this morning everyone at work thought the war was over.  Some started throwing things, some kissed and hugged each other and the funny thing, Kate cried.  The boss told her to cry if she wanted too.  One of the girls said it was fun while it lasted.  I’m hoping this is the end but it sounded too good to be true.  It has to come someday though and now is as good as any.

I didn’t write last night.  I had just finished ironing and was about ready to take a bath and Naomi came and wanted me to go to Canton with her.  She was taking another girl to the Doctor.  Naomi and I rode around while she was in the Doctor's office.  Of course, we had to get something to eat too.  Naomi still loves to eat.  She is going with a sailor now.  She is hoping he will ask her to go steady.  Maybe you know him, Glenn Dray.  What's funny is he don’t have a car so she takes him in hers.  She says she can forget Charlie now since she has been out with Glenn.

I’ve never got my tires yet today.  I’m going to see about them tomorrow.  I didn’t get any mail today but I probably will tomorrow.

Darling, there’s no news.  I’m going to get ready for bed now because I am tired tonight.  Honey I hardly know what to write tonight so I won’t write much.  I hope it won’t be long now until you get home.  That will be another exciting day.  I love you honey, more & more all the time.  I sure do miss you honey but things are beginning to look brighter, I think.  Maybe it won’t be this way much longer.  Here’s all my love tonight Ralph & a million kisses.

                                                            Forever yours,

                                                                        Marge.
