Letter Arrived December 7

Yuta Saito –

I can write because I safely escaped the war. Please be relieved. It is now winter. It is snowing. It is too cold. The big battle is over. But yesterday another battle began. But I don’t join it, because it is very crowded here.

Next I will send a letter to Mr. Hattori. He wrote me a letter about the military uniform. Mr. Hattori will make a new military uniform. But I will fix mine, because if I go home I can’t make a new one in time and it may not suit my body. So I will ask to dye my old military uniform. If you can’t dye please tell me soon.

By the way, these days I was transferred, so be careful. There are many things which we can not bring, and if we bring it we must pay a tax. So be careful.

By the way, more soldiers will come to the place which Mr. Ebina defends. So parts of the soldier’s place can transfer. The last ten days of December a special attacks corp. began and they can’t switch. They will go back with the replacements. They can apply for a defensive position. Some people already received their position. I will write a letter soon. I will send letters if I need to. See you next letter.
