Dear Hon:

Good evening darling. Received 2 letters from you tonight, 2 cards from Mary and a letter from Zas. I hit the jackpot tonight didn’t I?

Mary is coming home sometime Wed. as Bus is moving back to camp and will not be able to have any more time off. I am glad she is coming home.

Zas’s letter was all on one subject, Steve’s wife. The two of them hate each other, more so as she is living with her mother now. She told me all about her troubles as she has no one else to tell them to. I hope she feels better now. She also sent me snapshots of the children and said that little Tim started to walk by himself in the past week. Darling, when you stop to think everyone has family trouble.

Today was a very beautiful day. The sun shone bright and it was so very hot serving by the steam table it almost remind of the hot days in the summer time. I perspired awful. If the weather continues as today, it will suit me fine. I’m getting tired of winter and the drudgery of keeping fires going.

2.

Darling, you state that you went out Wed. night and had a perfectly good time with Kenneth and a few other boys. I’m very glad indeed and not a bit against it I love to have you boast of the fun you had rather than write me that you had to be on detail again.  It helps a lot, to go out and enjoy a pleasant evening with the boys. The 3-2 beer you have in La. is not much to give you that devil-may-come feeling is it? If after 10 beers you don’t feel it its not worth drinking. All I need is one glass at home or bottle and I feel pretty high and start singing away. It a good way to forget your troubles. I have 3 bottles out of a case in the house now, but have no desire to drink it, also a little wine and that bottle of liquor I bought special for you.

Darling, I bet you can’t wait till you come home now. Did I make you very thirsty?

I shall say goodnite again. Before I go to bed though I must wash some underwear and pin up my hair.

Until tomorrow Sweetheart.

“I love you with all my heart”
