Dear Mom and Pop,

Well I’m still in here, but I’m doing ok now.  I was surprised to get out today but somebody made a mistake in the laboratory on my blood so they have to take it over.  My blood is ok though.  They gave me an x-ray, system test, blood test, blood count, and urinalysis and they were all negative and normal.  I’ll either be out of here Monday or Tuesday.  Tuesday, I hope, because I have a watch at the barracks Monday night.  I’ve been in here this long, one or two days won’t matter much.

I’ve figured out on the calendar that I’ll be home Labor Day weekend.  We get paid right before then so that makes it just right.

Well I hope that you’re feeling much better by now.  Since there is more cool weather I guess that makes a big difference in how you feel.

Well I’d better close now. See you soon. All my love,

Alfred
