Dear Mom and Paps,

Well I hope by now that you are feeling alright, Mom. I think that in time everything will be alright and then you’ll never have any more trouble at all.

I caught a nice cold when I got back but I think it is breaking up pretty good now.

Monday night around 11:30 Dick Schell decided he wanted to drive to Washington tonight. So Gene, Dick and I all piled in the car and drove down it than around 4 hours which was pretty good time, considering a “36” Chevrolet. Dick didn’t have to go to work the next day and Gene had a few days off so it wasn’t so bad. I didn’t feel bad the next day even though I only got 2 hours of sleep.

Well tonight I’m supposed to go to a dance up at the YW CA. A buddy of mine says the girl he knows has a nice girl for me, but she’ll probably turn out to be about 5 ft. tall or something.

Well I suppose I’d better close these few lines for now.

All my love Alfred.

P.S. I’ll let you know when I’ll be home again.
