Dear Mom and Pop:

Just thought I would drop you a few lines to let you know how I am.

Here it is 7:00 in the evening and so far there hasn’t been anything coming in. I hope it stays that way for about another hour.

You know I had the duty this weekend. Well Friday night I worked till 10:30 and then Sunday I worked from 8:00 in the morning till 9:00 that night.

I don’t know whether I’ll be able to come home this weekend or not. It all depends on when pay day is. Pay day isn’t until Monday, but it’s rumored that we might get paid on Friday. So if we get paid on Friday I’ll be home late Friday night, like last time.

Oh, by the way, I moved back to Quarters “I”. I didn’t ask them to move me back. They just up and moved about 15 of us over here. It makes it easier when I work late to go back to the barracks. Then I don’t have to fool around and wait for a bus.

Well, I guess I’d better close these few lines. See you soon.    All my love,
