Dear Mom and Pap:

I thought I’d drop you a few lines to let you know for sure that I won’t be home this weekend. Yesterday I went back in the Barracks and now I’ve got a weekend watch. Looks like I’ll do a little of my own washing, but I’ll be home next weekend for sure.

Last night I went to the hockey game and the U line won and it was pretty good. I haven’t seen a hockey game since you were in the hospital.

Now I’m going to close this letter and start washing.

All my love

Alfred
