San Diego Calif

Dear Mom + Pop:

I’m glad you liked the Card, but I really wanted to get you something nice.

Just wait a while and I’ll get you something nice.

Boy I can hardly wait to get off this home. They treat you like a bunch of children. They tell what to do, have to do it, and when to do it. Bainbridge wasn’t as nice looking as Sunday, but these relations were better.  We’re going to move out of this barrack just for a few days till we leave, and then Dreosure Island.  I don’t think I’ll stay there long though.  I guess I told you in my last letter that I made seamen ½.  Its about time after 10 mo. in the Navy.  Well mom I guess I’ll close these few lines now for a while.  All my love,
