Dear Mom + Pop:

I got your letters the other day but didn’t bother answering till I got some air mail stamps. Well I volunteered for submarines but they didn’t pick me. They just picked out a few. Oh well I guess its too close in a sub anyhow.

I had a swell weekend tow fellows and I went up to Hollywood. Gosh it was swell. We got there about 6 o’clock Saturday evening and come back Sunday evening at 6:30. I wish you and Pap could have been there to see it. Saturday night we went to the Palladium Ballroom to dance but you couldn’t even move. We slept in the Y.M.C.A. and then the next morning we got up and got tickets for two radio broadcasts. We saw the “Great Gelderslewl” and “Blondie’. It was really worth seeing. We went to a show in the afternoon and then went to dinner at “Tom Bennamans”. Boy you really get a good meal. All in all I had a pretty full weekend. Mom, I keep telling every time I write about I got the chocolate from Uncle Harold and have already thanked them. I thought I had already told you that I got my teeth. They’re much better than the ones I got at Bainbridge. Well four more weeks of school to go then I hope it’s the East Coast. Well I guess I’ll close now. All my love
