Dear Mom & Pop,

I just got your letter this morning but didn’t have time to answer until this afternoon. I’ve been put on a permanent detail a few days ago. I’m now on night laundry. It’s a pretty good detail. I go to work at 5:00 and am done at 12:00 at night. Then I sleep until about 10:30 in the morning. Our liberty doesn’t start until 12:00 Friday night and ends Monday afternoon at 12:30. So this Friday night don’t be sitting up waiting for me because I won’t be home until about 5:30 Saturday morning. The earliest Train I can get out of Perryville is 3:42. Well I guess I’ll close now.
