Dear Mom and Pop,

I probably won’t be home until Sat. night this weekend on account Navy Day. I think we have to parade. It’s better than not coming home at all though. Today I was working claim at the canteen as a pin boy.

I forgot that stuff for my feet so will you send it down as soon as you can. Gee mom I can never think of anything to write about. All alone now with all my love
