Sun. April 7, 1940

Dear Pauline-

Received your letter dated April 3, the other must be lost. I checked at the house, no dice, that explains your sentence, I thought you were holding out on me. The insurance checks have been held up until a future date. I’ve got four years senority at Chryslers. I don’t drink or chew tobacco, but I smoke and gamble a helluva lot. I won a few bucks on the nags last week and am sending you ten bucks to spend as you will see on an other sheet of paper. Do not send me anything, I’ll take mine by dropping around your place by putting on the feed bag, how are you for cooking? I ain’t had a good home cooked meal in a long time. See if you can pick up a bowl and a couple of gold fish for ma, she used to get a kick out of them. Get these things first chance you get.

So-long

Your bro.

Pete
