My dearest Gerry,

Here I am back in Greenwich when I could be in Lebanon, for as far as being busy today; we were never slower since we hit this town. It looks like they take their holidays seriously up here.

How long did it take you to get back to camp? Did your passengers go to sleep? Tell them I enjoyed their company very much and hope I see them again sometime. They were very nice.

I arrived in Mamaroneck at 11 PM and into bed in about 2 minutes flat. Then I lay awake until after 12 and prayed you would get back safely. I woke out of a sound sleep at 2 AM and prayed some more. It was very still and beautiful out and my fears were stilled, for I felt HE would take care of you for me. I was really worried because even if you went well over the speed limit it would still take 6 and a half hours and you were tired before you started.

Well my darling have to close now but will write more tonight.

                                                                                    Love,

                                                                                    Eileen
