Dearest Clara,

I will write you a few lines on one of these, I am not bust for the rest of the afternoon, I am going to try and get some v-mail this evening if I can I didn’t get one of these written last night, on account of guard. I want to get busy on my trinkets again. The wind has been blowing about all day, it sure feels cool, Honey, when I send the other things to you I have to let you get the fasteners for them, there isn’t any here, and I don’t think you will have any trouble getting them . I got my other blanket washed at noon. It sure makes them fluffy and soft and they don’t smell mold either. It’s about time I should be getting some mail my change of address slowed it up some, I can’t figure out why Veon gets his letters in seven days, he is farther from the states than Iowa. Maybe when they start coming with this A.P.O Ill get them quicker. Well sweetheart I will write a letter this evening.

With all my love and kisses, to my Wife

Do be careful, your hubby, Johnny
