Dearest wife Clara,

It is getting pretty late, but I will write a few lines. I have already written you a pretty long letter already. I had to take the guards out, just came back. I will sleep pretty soon for a little while. I got 3 letters from you today, sure glad to get them too. I got 6 others also, it will keep me busy to get them all answered, don’t you think? I am okay but sleepy, hope you are feeling good dear. I always trust you and I know you will be good. I know you will always take care of yourself. I hope grandma is up and around by now. It is raining some but not very much. I sure am glad to get your watch band made, I’ll send it soon. Tell all hello and best of luck and hope you are hearing from all the folks. I ought to get some mail from your folks tomorrow. Well honey, I will close, always thinking of you. Write often.

With all my love and kisses to my dear wife Clara,

                                                                                                                          Your hubby Johnny
