Dearest Clara,

Darling I am fine, and hope you are the same. I am in New Guinea on an island, but that’s all I can tell you honey! I will find out for sure what they will allow me to tell. I wouldn’t want to write something and have it stamped out. I am sitting in a tent writing this. I didn’t get to write to you yesterday as I was working. Darling, how is Jane making it these days? I hope all of you folks are fine. It’s getting dark, but I’ll get this finished before it does get too dark. Darling, I’ll write as often as I can, but there’ll be days I won’t be able to, which I know you’ll understand. So take good care of yourself, and I will take good care of myself for you. Darling write real soon.

                                                                        I remain your husband,

With all of  my love and kisses to my darling wife Clara,

                                                                                                Johnny S.
