Dearest Catherine,

Well I finally arrived back in Camp and really I did hate to get back.

Chief, I don’t know when I spent an evening more enjoyable then the last evening I spent with you. I was completely happy for the first time in a very long while. Chief, believe me when I say this- you’re a very lovely woman. I just hope this war is over soon so I can come back to stay.

By the way I stopped over to see Earn and Madeline. They were both looking swell.

Your letter that you wrote on the 14th was here and boy, that is a swell picture of you.

Well I will sign off because new is scarce at present but I will write soon.

                                    Please write soon.

                                    Loads of love to my

                                    Lovely Woman

                                                Your Chuck
