Dear Albert,

I am Ramona’s mother, and she has gone to Flint to visit, so I will write for her. How will that be?

She is all through school for this year and she was working at the dry store, but gave it up because they didn’t pay enough.

Vera is in Becker Minnesota. That’s all the address. I know her last name is Johnes. I am not a very good writer as I am so tired from working at the Bomber. Ramona lost her billfold that your picture was in. She felt awful bad over it; she wondered if she would dare ask you for another one. She will take some pictures soon and send you one of her.

It sure is warm or rather hot here. We also have a garden to care for, first one we ever had, it’s quite a job. Wearing slacks to work is sure very warm and we really have to work twice as hard as we did one month ago. How do you like the state of California?

It must be very pretty there. I used to have a sister there at Zelzah, but she now is in Oregon. I don’t know if we will get a two-week vacation, or keep working and draw our vacation pay at Christmas.

I’d like to go to North Dakota and Maine if I could get the gas, but there is where a person is stuck.

I have canned a few strawberries. They were so high 45 qt. and sugar is so hard to get also. When you get a furlough you can come down let us know and you are surly welcome here.

Ramona’s Dad is somewhere, I believe, in Hawaiian Islands, last we ever heard from him.

I have so many letters to write to fellows across. It really keeps me jumping and keeping up a 4 room Bungalow, hall, bathroom, untidy room, and two porches and a lawn and a garden. You write to Ramona now, Al, as she sure likes to here form you. She was as tickled to get your letter.

                                                Yours respectfully

                                                 Mrs. Rebecca Peterson
