Dear Mom, Dad & Marie,

Here is the old “Sarge” reporting and for once I am on time. Do you think I’m improving? It just so happens that I am writing this just before the lights go out and that will account for the apparent haste.

I was very glad to hear that Marie had been doing so well and that she was invited to all those affairs uptown. I can agree with you when you said her hair was lovely. The picture from the paper was fine.

Had a letter from Mary and she enclosed pictures of her baby and of Betty, Bubbles and Diana. Very nice too!

I see by the date that Frank will be having a birthday soon. Please tell him for me “The very best wishes” and if I can I will try to write him on the 12th.

Haven’t heard from Butler for a long while. Maybe I owe him a letter. And also will try to drop him a line soon.

I met a Lt. who knew Jim at Columbia and it seems they were rather good friends. His name was (1st Lt.) Green. I must tell Aunt René in my next to her.

On Memorial Day I was chosen to take part in the services held here. It was very nice and if the pictures are shown back there maybe you will see yours truly on the front rank.

I really must close now but tell Marie to keep what white net evening gown and she & I will go dancing when I return.

                                                            All my love,

                                                            Aubrey
