Australia

April 29, 1942

Dear Mom, Dad & Marie,

Once more I will try to find something to tell you in this letter but right now I don’t know what it will be, as nothing of any importance has happen to us.

The cookies reached me at last and they were still in good shape. Also the fruit cake which was just fine. The pictures you mentioned in one of your letters have not reached me as yet. I guess they will show up before very long. I hope so as I am anxious to see them.

By the way how did the pictures I sent from Calif. with the camera, turn out. How’s about taking a batch of photos and sending some more to me. Also some of Margaret and the Robinsons.

We continue to work pretty hard but not too hard. There is always something new to do no matter how much we do to get caught up on the job. But that’s what we came out here for, not so?

I told you we had a kangaroo, didn’t I. it sure is growing. Don’t you know, the other day I saw her eating a cigarette butt someone had thrown away.

Lately I have been studying geography. This is about Australia and the Far East. I bought as Australia Atlas which is not bad at all. It cost 4 shillings and 6 pence. About 75¢ in our money.

I am still trying to catch up on my mail but am not doing so good. Still quite a pile to answer.

Now I must close as I will have to be up early in the morning. Another busy day tomorrow.

So I send my love to you all and hope to receive another letter from you soon.

                                                                        With love

                                                                        Aubrey
