Somewhere in Australia

March 28, 1942

Dear Mom, Dad & Marie,

I guess you will by now be wondering what has become of me. I too am wondering how you all are as I have not heard from you for a very long time.

I have neglected writing before now as we have been rather busy and because there has not been much to tell and also we must be careful as to what we say in our letters. The censor says we must be good boys.

As I wrote you before, the trip across was not too bad and I am looking forward to the return voyage.

The people in Australia are very nice to the boys and do all they can to help us have a pleasant time.

The weather here is perfect in fact, one could not ask for better. The nights are cool and the sky is just loaded with stars. And speaking of stars, we can see the Southern Cross.

There is not much else to tell you at this time except that I like my job out here and hope to get along well in it.

So write soon and please take note of the change in address.

                                                Love

                                                Aubrey
