Dear Mom, Dad, and Marie,

This time I am sending no pictures but just a few lines to let you know that I am well.  They have a nice hospital here, I know because I am in it at present.  Had a fever. But I expect to be back on duty in a few days.  Just taking a rest now.

I had a letter from Sadie and she enclosed clippings of the fire at the Jefferson, some excitement for the Richmonders.

Our score by the way, has improved lately and is now at 120 planes destroyed.  I guess we’ll get more in the not too distant future.  But the Jap planes are getting scarce in this neck of the woods.

I was glad to hear that your boarders had gone and things were getting back to normal again.

This being in the hospital will give me a chance to catch up on my mail.

Still have no idea as of when I shall know when I’m coming home.  Things are moving awfully slowly and from the way it looks it might be quite a wait yet.  Frank and Dad better not wait for my return to take their vacations, because they might miss them altogether.  I just keep hoping that the breaks will soon come for me.

Don’t worry about me, as I am okay and so now I will close due to the lack of news.  Next time I will send some more pictures.  Hope you have been getting the others okay.

                                                            All my love,

                                                                        Aubrey
