Richmond 24, Virginia

Dear Joe

Well! Well! It is me writing to let you know that everything if swell here in Richmond, except for the cold weather we are now having, Gosh!  You nearly freeze out there.  Ha! I don’t guess I can take it.

Joe, how are you getting along these days?  Saphy hopes all is well and happy with you.

We got three v—mail letters from Hara this week and he is just fine.  He is now stationed somewhere in the Lauta West Pacific, but couldn’t say where.  Have you heard from him lately?

*Second part of letter missing.

I do hope you are.

I’m doing pretty well in school now.  I passed every subject.  Gee! I hope I can do that good by the end of the term by getting my diploma.  Rah!  That will be the happiest moment of my life.

Tomorrow is our last day for school.  We have a two week Christmas holiday, isn’t that nice?

Well Joe, as news is getting short and time is running by, I will have to end this letter to you by saying I wish you a Very Merry Christmas and a very prosperous New Year.  May God be with you always.

                                                I remain your friend always
