Dearest Joe,

I received your letter, and I was very glad to hear from you.  I was very sorry that it was impossible for me to see you before you left.

Well I’ve got some news you.  My brother Stan has gone over seas.  We got three v.-mail letters from him Wednesday, and he said he was somewhere in the South Pacific, but couldn’t say where.  He says there are plenty of banana tree there, and it is very warm.  He is just fine and likes it there a lot.  Here is his address so you can write to him.

How are you feeling Joe?  I am just fine, but freezing from the cold.  It rained 3 days this week.  Now Joe, how do you like ice skating?  Boy!  I bet it was fun.  Did you ever fall down with that girl? Ha! Ha!

Everyone at home is just fine, and all wish you lots of luck.  Take good care of yourself, and write to me as often as you can.  I will have to close now and will write more next time.

With love,

Sophie
