Wednesday Morning

Dear Joe,

Received the pretty pillar case that you sent me and I was very glad to receive it.  I shall always keep it to remind me of a friend.

Well Joe, just how are you getting along these five days?  Every one here is just fine.  Hot as ever.

Stan was home Saturday night, and stayed until Sunday night.  He is just fine.  I told him to write to you and he said he was.  He said that he is on shipment to leave Camp Lee this week.  He may get his furlough from Camp Lee before going to his new base.  I hope he can.

Went skating Sunday and had a grand time.  There were so many people there.  I mean a person got bumped everywhere he went, but that play is a swell play to have a good time.

I only work on Friday and Saturdays now.  I stay at home and help mother.  I take life pretty easy.  Don’t you think so?

I went to the show and saw “Stormy Weather.”  It was wonderful.  If it comes around there, go and see it.  I also saw “Hi Diddle Diddle” with Martan Leatt.  That was pretty good also.

Have you heard from Etta Butler?  I owe her a letter.  I haven’t heard from her in 3 or 4 weeks.

How are the gals down there?  Are they like Richmond girls or wat?  I bet they are a killer.  Now Joe, don’t flirt too much with them.  Ha! Ha!

If possible, could you send me a large picture of yourself?  I have a small one of you but it doesn’t look so much like you; as you have changed in that time.  If you can’t have one taken, then that’s alright.  Stan is supposed to send me a large picture of him this week.  I can’t wait to see it.

Mother, Daddy, Rose all send there regards to you, and hope you are well, and enjoying yourself.

Joe, as news is running down, we have to close, and hopping this letter fins you well, and happy.  Lots of luck.

                                                            From your friend

Always,

Love,
