Dear Billy:

                Hiya, Honey Chile!

Well Heltie is certainly having himself a time with his new watch. He has showed it to everyone and now ha now put  it away to save it for Christmas. He wore it on Sunday and he was really cute. Every few minutes he’d say to me, “ask me what time it is” and then in a few minutes more he’d again ask me to ask him what time it was. He’s just so tickled with it he doesn’t know what to do. Everyone who has seen it thinks it is just beautiful. Some of the girls stopped by our house last night and I showed it to them. They, too, said it was about the prettiest watch they’d ever seen.

I was off yesterday so Heltie, mother and I went for a ride up around West Point etc., and we had lunch at Newburgh. It was a beautiful day and the scenery was beautiful. Most of the leaves had started to turn and I was wishing we had your movie camera to take some pictures.

When Heltie was cleaning out his bureau on Saturday he happened to find an old camera catalogue he had from before the war. In looking through it we noticed some Bolex movie cameras and also some Bolex projectors. I don’t know what kind of projectors they must be, but they cost $189. Needless to say, if tht is the price of Bolex projectors, we won’t get a Bolex projector. They also had some other projectors from $20 up. Naturally, we wouldn’t be able to get any now but they should be starting to make them again soon. In my last letter I mentioned about your trying to get a projector, that is, if you would be able to manage to get it home. However if you are able to get one, and can manage to carry it home, don’t get it if it costs more than about $40. If they run any more than that, we’ll just wait until they are making them again over here and then get one around that price. I was talking with Eileen one day this week and she said she only paid about $40 for hers and it works perfectly all right; that for ordinary movies it isn’t necessary to get one that runs so much money. Let me know what you do, if anything, as far as the projector is concerned.

Once again, what about the films for your movie camera? Eileen said she used to pay around $3.00 for the colored films, and that price included developing. If you don’t have any film, let us kow right away and we’ll send you some. I would like you to take some movies before you come home.

Bye for now honey lamb, and let me know if you want anything special and hurry home

P.S. As you know mother’s birthday is Oct. 31st. Don’t forget to say Happy Birthday to her.
