My Dearest Sweetest Darling Dolly;

     Here is that little fellow that loves you so darn much again. We still haven’t had any mail, it will catch up to us one of these days; more than likely be a Xmas present, but I couldn’t think of a nicer present than to get a nice sweet precious letter from you. I’ll love you always.

     I’ve been telling Schwartz. I can’t talk to him anymore-they have a heavy fine for anyone talking to Germans. I think it is nuts myself. Look at the way they treat the Italians. I trust a German a lot more than any of them. Don’t you?

     I went to Belgium church Sunday. We listened to a Belgium Sermon. The mass was just the same though, and the church was sweet, it seems as though the smallest towns have real nice big churches. I can’t seem to get over it. I’ve told you about churches in every letter.

     The kid from Valentine came in my pup tent to write a letter because I have a light, a real good one. I wish I had a stove now. Then I could be nice and cozy. But, who in [the] hell ever heard of a pup tent being cozy? But you can make them comfortable. We have about six inches of straw under us, and its soft, and it keeps the camp mess off. I’m going to sleep for a week when I come home, between sheets and a real nice soft bed. Home will be heaven, and you will be my little angel.

     How is the office going? Wouldn’t it be funny if you had quit on something, but I guess you can control your temper pretty good. I hope you don’t have anyone around to get on your nerves. I’m waiting to find out what and where your vacation [is], and if you have gone over to see the Hennessy’s.

      I tried to get a pair of wooden shoes, but I hear the people over here are having a hard time getting them. I can just hear Dick putting them on and manning around. The kids here sound like a dozen horses running. Nice people.

     How is Mike? Heard anything more about his operation? I would like to see him, and hear him talk. Then I would be right beside you. I’m telling you honey when I get home, you will never be out of my sight again. I love you so darn much, and I want just one nice sweet kiss, and to be able to tell you how much I love you. I’ll love you always and always.

      Your Ever Loving,

                         Giles
