Jack honey,

Hi there!!! I received a couple of letters from you recently and I told you already why I didn’t write in the last letter.  Forgive me Jack I guess I’m just being silly but please answer all of the questions I asked you.  Please.

So far school has been fun.  My subjects and teachers are as follows:

            English 12th year Regent- Portlan

            Soc. St.                      - Agie Smith

            Bus. Law Begin- Woodard

            Retailing I Beg.- Connick

Did you have any of the teachers that I have?  Seems to me you had Portlan.  Eh?  I’m gonna join Chi Alpha, Prisma and Library Club. I was gonna try out for Dramatic Club but I have work in the afternoon so that leaves that out.

Jack I hope you aren’t sore about Saturday night!!  I told you because you told me to let you know what’s going on.  Isn’t it better for me to tell you rather than some one else?

Oh yes was the girl that you went with two years ago, Betty DuBois?  Do you write to her anymore Jack?  I won’t be mad I know you like to hear from people from the states.  Gosh I’m so glad you thought of me when you were at that Jap shrine but what was a Jap shrine doing in China???

Haven’t been doing much recently except school, work and sleep.  I was going to enclose my picture in the last letter but I just can’t, it’s wicked.  I can’t seem to get a clear picture of myself, of course something must be wrong with the camera.  It couldn’t be me, no remarks marine!!

Oh yes I saw Louie the other day!  He was with some guy, don’t know his name.  Anyway he said he heard you were coming home so I told him I didn’t think you were.  Are you??  How silly of me to even hope when you say you have 23 more months to go.  Gosh darn that’s a long time!!!

I went for a ride with Bosty (my cousin) last night.  He’s a swell kid.  We, of course, talked about you.  I just can’t seem to stop myself from talking about you. We rode through the 7th ward and don’t you talk about Port Even!  All we saw at 10 o’clock was houses.  No people and not even any cats or dogs.

Jack I can’t tell you how much I miss you!!  I just keep thinking of the time when you come home.  When I see a marine pass the fountain all I can imagine is you in that kind of uniform.  I bet you look wonderful.  Oh Jack two years is a long time and I’d still love you if you are in dungarees when you come home.  I can wait Jack but I couldn’t for anyone else but you.

Guess I better close, I’ll make myself feel worse than I do! Jeans coming over to see my room, I redecorated it. Blue of course but I have rose trimmings.

            So-Long Jack and write.

                                                                                                “Jackie”

P.S. Look Jack I want to send you something for Christmas. It has to be mailed now so in the name of heaven please help me out and tell me some things you would like.  I want to send something!!
