Dear Jack,

I was glad to hear from you and I am answering promptly.  I received your letter yesterday.

Look Jack there are a few things I want you to get straight.  Do you listen to everything that is said to you and honestly believe them?  You must if you think I’m that serious with Frank.  In fact I don’t intend to get “that” serious until quite a few more years.  I have other plans which I am going to carry out before.  I hope you have that straight!

Gossip sure travels!!  I heard you were going steady with Dot Brandt, am I right?  Thought you were gonna be a bachelor.  I hope you had a good time when you were home.  I hear you weren’t quite yourself, in other words you drank quite a bit.  Do you honestly enjoy it?  Probably.  I heard Dot had a party, my cousin told me.  In fact I’m in study hall now and she sits at the table directly in front of me.  Hall E!  Don’t worry, she doesn’t know I’m writing to you.  I won’t cause any trouble.

Frank Konhont, Jean, Frank S., and I went out on a double date on Feb. 2 to celebrate my birthday which was the 3rd.  No doubt you’ll get a letter from him telling you Jean wrote him his walking papers.  Do you hear from Koney very often?

I’ve been going roller skating quite often lately.  In fact I go every Sunday night.  At Spring Lake, of course.  Cornell’s is closed.  Dot was up there last Sunday, she disapproves of me greatly!

Those Japanese dames ought to keep you company.  Gosh, in a way you’re lucky, I love to travel!  Send me some cards, pictures, and etc. of Japan if you feel like spending the time on me.

Jack, did Gwen tell you I wanted to see you before you left?  I did want to talk to you friendly.  I also wrote in my letter I wasn’t going steady with Frank, I’m not.  Oh well, I guess it was best the way every thing turned out.  Take care of yourself, until I hear from you (I hope soon)

As Ever

“Jackie”
