Dear Hic:

Last Monday I received a letter from you and yesterday I was fortunate to receive another letter. Boy, oh boy!

Since I told you all the news in my previous letter there isn’t much to write about. So, forgive me if this letter is brief. Am I forgiven Hic ole boy?

As far as yours truly telling you about V-J Day, I told you in my other letter. Did you receive it yet?

It was nice of you to pay your respects to the late popular war correspondent, Ernie Pyle. He was a wonderful person and it’s a shame such a nice person had to bid farewell to the land of liberty.

You certainly bought the “T” shirts at a reasonable rate. You lucky boy!

Guess your Mom forgot about the dictionary. Don’t you let off any steam or else _ _ _ _ _ . Yours truly would be glad to buy you a dictionary. I always wanted to get you some sort of a gift. Your worries are over about a dictionary. Can you play the clarinet? It would be nice if you could. You and Izzy could get together. Speaking about instruments Izzy plays the drums very well. Have you ever heard him? Iz plays with the army band three nights a week and really love it. He is so talented. Do you agree?

I’m writing this letter at the park and if I run out of ink I’ll scream. Ah, I dood it!

You see there wasn’t any office work today and so I had the day off. Enjoying my self at the park. I’m writing, reading, eating and what not. I’m really taking it easy.

Wouldn’t it be nice if you were home on my birthday which is April 20th? I hope you get home as soon as possible and then may the rest of your life be happy and peaceful and may you have everything your heart desires.

I sincerely hope Lou gets discharged. Give him my regards. By the way do you have any Sisters? If so please tell me all about them. Pretty please.

I promise you I won’t be busy or engaged the first time you call. Hic, I’ll be sweet to you. Yep, I’ll be real sweet. O-o-o-h!

You want to get married and settle down. I think that’s nice. I hope you meet someone nice and your dreams come true.

I went to the Top and saw “Captain Eddy.” It really was swell. I enjoyed this show wholeheartedly. I’m sure you would like it.

Last week my folks were down the shore and they had a grand time. They got a nice tan.

Did you ever receive the candy I sent you? I hope so. If not I’m sorry and I can’t understand why you didn’t.

Labor Day week-end and an old gal friend of mine paid me a visit. I haven’t seen her for two years and it was nice seeing her again.

Lynn is a night club singer. She has a good voice and always wanted to sing. Now she’s making a career out of it and is very happy. Contentment is written all over her face. Lynn dyed her hair red and wears a lot of makeup. Of course it is necessary for her to do so. She really looks good and I was glad to see her again. She wants (me) to come up to hear her sing and perhaps I’ll do so.

I showed Lynn your pictures and she thought you were cute. Ah, you baby face you. Yummy!

My girlfriend’s boyfriend is coming home and Harriet is thrilled. She can’t wait till she sees her man and whatta man.

“Rhapsody in Blue” is now playing at the Boyd. I heard it was wonderful and I must put it on my must see list.

Hell Hickie, I’ll conclude my letter now and hope to hear from you soon and I do mean soon.

Do you realize you concluded your letter with love for the first time. This is so sudden Hic. Ha, ha!

            As ever, Carol                                      Bye now.
