Miss Shirley Bernstein

Dear Harold,

You are probably wondering who Shirley Bernstein could be.

I just received a letter from a friend of mine, and a buddy of yours, Milton Goodbury, asking me to write to you. I took advantage of this and decided to do it.

It seems sort of queer to write to a strange person whom I’ve never seen before, but as things are today nothing seems queer, if you know what I mean.

I suppose you would like to know a little something about me.

First of all I am five feet to be exact. I am dark and I have jet black hair, rather curly. To finish my description, I will end up by telling you I am a ballet dancer. I suppose you’ve heard all that from Milton. Now that I’ve told you something about myself, how about telling me a little of yourself?

I guess that is all I can think of right now. You will probably wonder why I am writing so little to you, just since I don’t know you there isn’t much I can say to you.

Hoping to hear from you soon

                                                                        Love,

                                                                           Shirley B.
