Hi Sweet,

How is every thing back in Yancey? I am sitting here on my bunk thinking of home, and you. I am here for seventeen weeks basic training. My brother-law is here. I saw him last night. Is your brother here at Wheeler, if so tell me his address and I will look for him.

I will get to come home come time in January I hope. They told us that we would be trained after night because the men now will go to the South Pacific, and they have to fight after night. So I will have to be a night owl. Answer soon my love.

Love

      Ike

P.S. Do you want my basketball medal? If so write and say so. They stole it and I got it back.
