Euie dearest,

I was detached today, and am now living in the Clift Hotel.  I expect that I’ll be able to get transportation soon, possibly tomorrow.

I was unable to get off the ship until 1600 today, so I have an extra day’s wait.

My orders send me to Washington for separation.  At least that will give me a chance to check into civil service etc with no extra change.

I want very much to meet you there.  I only worry about accommodations for you.  I’ll be put up without question at the BOQ but it would be much nicer to have you there too.  So there anyone we can stay with for two days?  I suppose there is no use writing about it because I’ll call or telegraph you when I know when I’ll be arriving.

I am so happy dearest one to be coming home to you.  It seems like a dream – I’ll be with you in a week!

It’s pretty late now so I’m going to hit my sack.  I’ve been all afternoon (after 5) getting all the paper work out of the way, and I’m pretty tired.  Tomorrow morning I have to report at 0830 for more paper work.

I’ll be seeing you soon, darling.  I just can’t wait to take you in my arms and tell you how much I love you.  Good night, Euie dearest.

            All my love,

your Stuie.
