Dear Mom—

Just a line to say that I am ok and everything is going along fine – I’m on K.P. again for 3 days but it’s not too bad. We had a big parade here today. Biggest this town has ever had so my landlady tells me – It was for “Salute the Soldier” week. Sort of like a war bond drive.

I received your letter today saying Anne was sending the candy and that you were sending something else. Thanks a million – I also received the card from the “Reader’s Digest” saying that you were sending a subscription – gee that’s swell. It will be great to have it to read –– Thanks a lot ––

Yesterday I sent you five pounds that’s about $20.00. Please keep it for me – I may send you money from time to time – perhaps it would be best to keep a savings account or else buy Bonds with it – Whatever you think best –––

I may send you a few souvenirs in a few days – I’ll let you know –––
