Dear Mom,

I’ve missed writing for a couple days as I’ve been pretty busy- had K.P. for 3 days- I traded places with one of the fellows one day and went to Birmingham to see “The Mikado”- It was very good and we had a swell time- we went to the Red Cross and had dinner- Had a delicious concoction of pastry made with stuff like éclairs- It’s very seldom you see anything like that here- I miss the chocolate sundaes we used to get in the states-

Out outfit had a dance last night and I met a girl who is the English equivalent of a Red Cross Recreation worker- We had a lot of common interests and I enjoyed talking with her-

No word from Gene as yet- wish I could hear from him-

So long for a while- I’ll write again soon.

                      Love,  Jack

P.S. I have a new APO number although we are still here- address me at
