Some Foreign Port

Dear Grandparents:

I received your most welcome letter today and I am very happy to know everyone is well, as for I am the same.

I guess you know by now I am back in the islands again enjoying the sunshine and tropical weather. It seems as though I haven’t even been away from here in five months. The old place is the same, except for a few changes here and there.

The trip out was pretty rough and boy did we pitch and roll you know how a cigar box would be in the ocean, well that is about how we were pushed around. You have to be a good sailor to ride one of these things.

I am doing pretty good with my work in the engine room and I should be getting first class very soon. Well that’s all for now as I have a lot of mail to answer. Write and I’d like to have another box if you get one.

Love to All

Charles
