Friday Night.

Dearest Jane:

Well, honey here I am in camp again. Sure was awful to have to come back, but I guess there anything can be done about it. Sure is hot here after being so cool in Wash.

I got to Shreveport about 10:30 and caught the bus to Louisville at 12. Got to camp about 4. Sure was a long and lonesome ride. Sweet I sure do miss you. You have no idea how much. Someday I won’t have to leave you. It sure was hard to have to leave Tuesday.

Honey I’m going to go take a physical exam tomorrow so I don’t know if I will go to California or not. Will let you know as soon as I find out. We are supposed to leave Thursday the 16th. Honey if I do go my address will be:

            CO E. 36th Armd Inf

            A.P.P #253

            % Post Master

            Rice, California

I will try to let you know as soon as I find out if I am going.

Honey, how are you and Jr. feeling? I hope you are fine. I will be seeing you both, before very long. Be sure and let me know in time so I can get there. If I go to California it will take about 5 days to come home.

Sweet, I don’t know much else to write and I am pretty tired and sleepy as I didn’t sleep much last night so I guess I will close for now.

Be sweet honey and keep your chin up and everything will come out o.k. Just do the best you can and don’t be blue or worry too much.

Will write again tomorrow or Sunday.

                                                                                                                                                            Lots of Love

Friday Night

Dear Mother Dad & Sybil:

Will write a few lines to let you know I am alright. Don’t know much to write at the present.

I sure did hate to have to get on the train and leave, but there wasn’t anything else to do.

I am taking a physical exam tomorrow, so will let you know as soon as I find out anything.

We are leaving to California Thursday.

Mother, if I do go to California I will need a little money. I won’t get paid any until the first of August. Don’t send any though until I leave, I won’t need much. You can send me some cigarettes to California and I won’t need any. That’s about all I will need money for anyway. We will get there about the 20th so it will just be about 10 days until I get paid.

Jane should get her money before long. She should get seventy dollars by the 1st of August anyway.

Dad you take care of your self and don’t work too hard. I will write and love the title of the car sent up there.

Mother don’t you work so hard either and take care of your self. Also Jane. Will stop now and go to bed. Be sure and write, and I will let you know what I do.

Love to all

Clive
