Germany

Dear Mary and all:

Here are a few lines this evening to let you know I’m still here in Germany and I am well and getting along fine. I hope this finds everyone at your house the same. Received your Dec. 4 V-letter today and I’m glad to hear from you. Charles wrote that Russell didn’t have any luck this year deer hunting but I guess the weather had a lot to do with it. It’s not good hunting when there is so much snow. Maybe next year it will be better. I hope I can go, too, then. We had some snow here the other day and it looked nice, but it was not very nice to be in. By all indications, I think we will have a lot this winter. Received your Xmas package and thanks a lot. Have received quite a few so far, and they are still arriving. They are much later this year than last, but then there are many more over here now. I had a right nice Xmas, but I hope before the next one comes, I can be home. I spent it back in Holland with some people I know and they treated me very swell. Made me feel right at home and I stayed at this house two nights. I hope to get back again soon. Space is gone so I’ll close now.

Love,

Roland
