Dear Mary and all:

[I] received your Valentines greeting and I appreciate it a lot.  I’m still here in England well and getting along fine and I hope this finds all of you in the best of health.  We stayed at one of the villages that were evacuated for the use of the army not long ago for a few days and I really enjoyed it there.  We lived in an inn and it was a swell place.  It was very large and very modern for England.  It had a swell terrace and garden and I’m sure mother would have enjoyed that.  We were the only ones there and we really had great fun exploring all the houses.  I think I was in about every one there and we all brought back some souvenirs.  We really ate like kings there too so you can tell we enjoyed that.  Space is gone so I’ll close for now.

                                                                        Love to all,

                                                                                    Roland.
