Dear Joe:

I received your letter today and sure was glad and surprised to hear from you. Thank you for the congratulations Joe.

Yes I sure felt bad because I couldn’t get to see my son. Even the night that the little guy was born.

Yes my pop is really a happy guy because he is a grandfather. I also think that my brother Charlie will be getting married but I hope that it wont be until after the war is over.

Yes Bill is really a fun papa. I wish that I were in his shoes though, be home with my wife and son.

Ed hasn’t been writing much or anything. All he writes about is how they work him hard. I sure would be glad to write to Bodice when you send me his address.

I haven’t seen him in about six months so I don’t know how he’s doing or where he’s at.

I saw Bob MacDonald only once since I’ve been here. So I don’t know where he’s at either.

I see almost all of the boys are in service. Yes all the boys are doing alright.

I was going to Officer’s school also but was rejected on account of my asthma and hay fever.

Bill Hansen is also in the Army. He’s at Fort McClellan Alabama.

He’s doing alright also.

Well Joe that’s all for now so I’ll until later.

Your Buddy,

Johnny
