7 A.M.

Dear Dot & Dana,

I feel pretty good this morning as I got three letters last night from you post marked Oct. 31 and Nov 2nd after about five weeks without any mail and of course there are lots of back mail that I will get soon if I stay here long enough.

I didn’t think that Dana’s marks were very bad, I got lots worse than that when I was a boy in school.  It tickled me about the remarks about Roosevelt, tell Dana I think he is a pretty good egg too.

If I were you Dot, I wouldn’t take a steady job in the mill.  I think spare work is plenty and then you would have lots more time to yourself.

And try and take Dana to Waterville once a week to a movie.  I haven’t seen much of anything for four months.  I spend lots of my evenings sitting up on deck gazing out on the water where it is a little cooler thinking of home and the past things we have done just wishing I could be back to those days again soon.

How is Louise now Dot, you said she wasn’t feeling so good?  Well dear, it’s almost time to muster, I’ll have to close now.  Will write more tonight.

                                                            Love and kisses,

                                                                        Beecher
