Dear Dot and Dana

We had a nice little bunch of mail come aboard yesterday afternoon about 9 bags in all, three of them were letters and the rest were packages. I didn’t get any of my packages, only three letters from you and Dana. Two of them were about like the ones that I write, only two small pages. You had better do better than that.

I met a soldier aboard today that is from Waterville. I didn’t know him but it was nice talking to someone from my home town. I can’t think of his name right now but he seems to be a nice chap.

This is another awful hot day. I will be so glad when I get someplace where it is a little cooler for a change. Wish it could be home.

Tomorrow my little boy will be eight years old. Gee, how I wish I could be with him. Wouldn’t we have fun. I hope you get something nice for your birthday Dana. There isn’t really anything I can write about only I miss you lots and in hopes to see you sometime pretty soon.

Until you hear from me from me again hears lots of love and kisses,

                                                                                                Beecher
