Dear Dot and Dana,

I got three letters this morning, one from Edie and two from you, postmarked June 29 and July 3rd.

I haven’t looped up Gen[ernal] Ready yet. Don’t think I will bother as he is just a little out of my class.

No Dot, your mail you send me is not censored.

I sent you a money order yesterday of twenty dollars, so be sure and let me know if you get the letters all right. Have you paid anything on the tax bill yet? And do you have enough money to get by on? If you don’t let me know and I will try and send you as much as I possibly can.

Yes dear, I do get awful lonesome at times, but I do have quite a lot to do to take up my time.

I am doing quite a lot of studying now as I am going up for Coxswain rate next month. I was recommended by my Div[ision] Officer and now all I have to do is pass ten assignment tests and one final test of 300 questions.

That requires quite a lot of studying. Don’t you think? Are you betting on me? Ha! I’m betting I can make it. But I was always sort of dumb at things like that.

Well dear, this is all I have time for this time. Don’t work too hard. I hope I get a banner this month.

                                                            All my love and kisses,

                                                                        Beecher.
